I am finally fully recovered from my first egg retrieval. While the results were a bit depressing, I feel even more confident knowing I made the right decision in moving forward with this process now, rather than later - or not at all.
Before I get into the details, I think it's important to underline, bold and italicize the fact that everyone's body is completely unique to them. I say this as a reminder to myself as well as I definitely spiraled a bit after receiving word that only 4 of my eggs were mature enough to freeze. Last month, a reality star (my same age) got 40 mature eggs. As my doctor said, you only need one good egg. Quantity does not mean quality.
