Most of us know dry brushing to be the pre-bath ritual Gwyneth's Goop told us we needed to be doing. Yes, it is a great way to exfoliate the skin and (supposedly) reduce cellulite, but one of the main benefits is actually great for those of us with endometriosis. Â
Enter lymphatic drainage.
Dry brushing is a great way to swiftly remove toxins, encourage circulation and help skin with its elimination process aiding in the removal of old hormones that have built up in the body. A necessity for endo as estrogen dominance is a thing for us. Â
So how do I do it?
Always start on dry skin using a natural bristled brush. I typically start from the feet/ankles and work my way upward in long fluid strokes on limbs, circular motions on my back, and downward strokes on my torso.  A few overlapping swipes per area is enough. If you go over one area too long, you can actually break the integrity of the skin and cause irritation. I generally do this once each day and shower immediately after to wash off any dead skin cells.  Be sure to apply lotion (this one’s my fav!) afterward to put moisture back into your skin.
Bonus:
Brushing also stimulates your nervous system, making you feel invigorated afterward!
