National Wellness Month
August is National Wellness Month and while I personally believe everyone should embrace self-care in all aspects of life throughout the entire year, it's a nice little reminder to edit/upkeep your routine.
Below are three of my favorite wellness resources that I seek comfort in.
The Better Period Food Solution: Eat Your Way to a Lifetime of Healthier Cycles
I'm pretty sure I've referenced Tracy Lockwood Beckerman's book, The Better Period Food Solution before, but my doctor recommended it to me a few years back and it's proven to be a helpful guide when it comes to making nutrition choices that are best for your body through every stage of your cycle. I highly recommend giving it a read!Â
The Tapping Solution
I actually got hooked on this one after my dog passed away in 2020 as a way to cope, but then realized the app offered an endometriosis specific meditation as tapping is a proven source to ease chronic pain. Tapping is also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and is a powerful holistic healing technique based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.
Tone It Up
Lastly, the Tone It Up girls developed a cycle-syncing fitness guide specific to your menstrual cycle. The workouts are curated to sync with whatever phase you're in. Think yoga for your period, HIIT training during ovulation, etc. As they say, the workouts aren't only tailored to optimize performance, but to support hormonal balance and overall well-being. Genius!
