One symptom that I feel gets overlooked the most with endo is the brain fog. Even for women living sans endometriosis, premenstrual brain fog is a thing and honestly, it sucks.
I couldn't help but feel like an absolute idiot this morning when I asked my boss about something that had already been answered in an email I had accidentally overlooked. I took care of my two nephews this weekend and can admit I'm slightly sleep deprived, but the poor concentration and memory issues (took me way too long to remember the word 'laptop') are next level at the moment. Â
It wasn't until my Flo app sent me a reminder notification that my period starts tomorrow when it all clicked. Â
Luckily, brain fog has finally become a serious topic in women's health and we no longer - should never have had to - feel inadequate when the brain fatigue sets in.
We know that chronic inflammation is a problem with endo and research has found that people with endo have higher inflammatory markers and lower levels of antioxidants, which can affect the brain.
Cool, cool... So an extra serving or two of fruits and veggies should do the trick?.. Yeh, not so much.
A balanced diet and healthy routine of meditation are obviously imperative (for me at least), but I'm also a newer fan to the 'focus' playlist community. Like, I didn't even know it existed a week ago.
I’ve always joked that my pets are the luckiest because I leave the Light Classical channel on for them whenever I'm not home. It relaxes them. They told me. Sooo I'm unclear why I didn't think to try it for myself?
Research from the Stanford University School of Medicine, revealed that specific types of music (such as classical compositions) help the brain absorb information. Brain Food (uber hypnotic) on Spotify and the Light Classical channel are my current two go-to's, but like I said, I'm new to this community so I'm taking any and all suggestions.
